Gurgaon: The district has received 477.6 mm rainfall since June 1, which is 1% above its normal monsoon rainfall of 473.2 mm, according to India Meteorological Department’s weekly report issued on Thursday.The district, however, received 10.2 mm rain between Sept 11 and 17, against the normal 21 mm, making the week’s rainfall 51% below normal.The latest forecast indicates that the city could get some more rain over the next two days. Light to moderate rain is likely in a few places in the district on Thursday and Friday, while isolated rain is possible on Saturday. The weather is expected to remain dry from Sunday.Gurgaon recorded 1 mm of average rainfall in the 24 hours till 8.30am on Thursday. At the NorthCap University automatic weather station, the minimum temperature was 25.3 degrees Celsius, down 0.9 degrees Celsius from the previous day.IMD’s temperature data also showed that the average minimum temperature across Haryana fell by 2.4 degrees Celsius compared with the previous day and was 1.8 degrees Celsius below normal. The state’s lowest minimum temperature was 20.5 degrees Celsius at Hisar.The maximum temperature was logged at 32.9 degrees Celsius.Across Haryana, the state received 15.1 mm rain during the week against the normal 18.8 mm, a 20% deficit. Seasonal rainfall stood at 313.8 mm against the normal 411.6 mm, a 24% shortfall.IMD said conditions are becoming favourable for the southwest monsoon to start withdrawing from parts of west Rajasthan around Sept 19.
