Gurgaon: A businessman was attacked near Bestech Altura Society in Sector 79 by five men and his car windows were smashed with iron rods.Police have ruled out road rage and are probing the incident as a case of personal enmity. An investigation has been launched to identify the attackers and establish the circumstances behind the assault.The incident took place around 9pm on Thursday, when Manish Kumar, a resident of Shikohpur village, was returning home from his office in Naurangpur village. Kumar told police that the five men were in a Brezza car. They followed his Scorpio for some time and intercepted it near the society.Four of the five accused got out while the fifth remained in the driver’s seat, according to Kumar’s complaint. They then allegedly launched a sudden attack on his SUV, smashing its front and side windows and attempting to pull him out of the vehicle. Kumar escaped injury during the assault.The attackers fled after they saw another car approaching the area. While leaving, they threatened to kill him if they saw him again, Kumar told police. The five men then drove towards the Naurangpur crusher zone.Kumar, who runs an earthmoving business, said he had been trying to identify the attackers on his own before approaching Bar Gurjar police post on Friday to lodge a formal complaint.Police said an emergency response vehicle alerted them to the incident on Thursday night. Assistant sub-inspector Pardeep Kumar reached the spot and met the complainant, who initially said he suspected certain individuals but would submit a detailed complaint after making further inquiries.Based on Kumar’s complaint, an FIR was registered against five unidentified men on Friday under sections 190 (unlawful assembly), 191(3) (rioting while armed with a deadly weapon), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 351(3) (criminal intimidation involving threats of death or grievous hurt) and 324(4) (mischief causing damage of Rs 20,000 or more but less than Rs 1 lakh) of BNS..
