Gurgaon: A local court on Friday sent the two men arrested for knocking down a biker with their car in the middle of the busy GCR Road to 14 days’ judicial custody.Kalyan Singh Bainsla (33) and his cousin Lovneesh (32) were produced before the court after their two-day police custody ended. Kalyan’s counsel, Lalit Bindal, said the custodial interrogation of both accused had been completed. “Police informed the court that their investigation in terms of custodial interrogation had been completed. Following this, the court sent both accused to 14 days’ judicial custody. The next date of hearing has been fixed for October 1,” he said.The biker, Shivani Chauhan, said there were two more men in the Maruti Ciaz which hit her. Bainsla and Lovneesh identified them as Anup Kumar Awasthi and Shrinath Vishwakarma and police said efforts are on to trace them.The incident took place on Sept 13. Chauhan said she was being followed by the Ciaz for nearly two kilometres before it hit her bike near the Sector 55-56 metro station. Footage from a camera mounted on Chauhan’s motorcycle shows the Bainsla’s car repeatedly attempting to get alongside her. After the collision, the bike slid across the road and Chauhan was knocked down to the ground. She escaped without any injuries because she was wearing protective gear, police said.Chauhan told police that before the collision, the driver had made obscene gestures at her. She posted the footage from her dash camera on her social media, which was circulated widely, after which police took suo motu cognisance of the matter. Based on her statement and video evidence, police added sections 78, 79 and 109(1) of the BNS, including the attempt to murder charge, to the FIR initially registered under sections 281 and 125.Bainsla and Lovneesh were arrested near Dausa in Rajasthan after allegedly visiting Pushkar on Tuesday.Police have since found that the road rage incident followed a night out at The Empire Club at MGF Metropolitan mall on MG Road.Police are now examining whether Bainsla or anyone else in the car had consumed alcohol.The next date of hearing has been has been set for Oct 1.
