Bengaluru: Cyber fraudsters created a fake website impersonating the well-known New Kumara Krupa State Guest House, using it to cheat unsuspecting customers by offering fraudulent online room bookings and collecting payments.According to a complaint filed by guest house senior manager Karthik Santhosh, the scam came to light after several customers informed the management that they’d received booking confirmations and invoices through a website falsely claiming to represent the establishment.The fraudulent website, kumarkrupaguesthouse.in, misused the name and identity of the guest house to generate fake bills and invoices for room bookings. Customers were reportedly persuaded to make online payments, believing they were dealing with the genuine guest house.The management clarified the website is not associated with the guest house and urged guests to verify booking platforms before making payments.A case has been registered with central cybercrime police under Information Technology Act.
