FIRs lodged against 104 DJ operators in Kushinagar

Lucknow: Kushinagar police have registered FIRs against 104 DJ operators across 19 police stations in the district for allegedly playing music at volumes exceeding prescribed limits during Barawafat processions and Dol Melas.FIRs have been registered at Padrauna, Ravindra Nagar, Ghughli, Turpattti, Hata, Kaptanganj, Ahirauli Bazar, Kasaya, Patherwa, Tamkuhiraj, Bishunpura, Tarayasujaan, Chaura Khas, Sidhua, Seorahi, Khadda, Hanumanganj, Ramkola and Nebua Naurangia police stations.According to police, the DJ operators booked in the cases include individuals from Kushinagar as well as neighbouring Gorakhpur and Deoria districts and Bihar.ASP Kushinagar Siddharth Verma said that before the religious events, police had convened meetings with organisers and DJ operators and clearly instructed them to operate sound systems within the prescribed limits. Notices were also issued to DJ operators participating in the Dol melas and Barawafat programmes.“However, violations were detected during the programmes. Videography of DJs used during the religious events was conducted and FIRs were registered after examination of the footage,” Verma said.Meanwhile, at a meeting held in Badahara village in the Padrauna area on Wednesday evening, circle officer RP Singh urged residents to ensure that the Dol Mela was organised in a peaceful manner.The CO said maintaining peace during festivals was a priority and warned that any attempt to disturb the communal or public order would not be tolerated.
