Gurgaon: A fire broke out at a packaging company in the Ravi Nagar industrial area on Basai Road on Monday morning.No injuries or casualties occurred in the incident, officials said.The blaze started around 8 am inside the unit, sending plumes of smoke into the surrounding area and causing panic among workers and nearby establishments.Employees and locals alerted emergency services as the fire began to spread within the premises.Two fire tenders were dispatched to the spot, and firefighters began operations to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to adjacent units in the congested industrial pocket. Officials said the fire was brought under control within about an hour.Preliminary inputs indicate that the blaze was confined to materials stored inside the factory, which primarily deals in packaging-related goods. “The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and a detailed assessment will be carried out to determine the source of ignition and extent of damage,” a fire officer said.Authorities said safety protocols and compliance with fire norms at the unit will also be examined as part of the inquiry.
