Rajkot: A hit-and-run accident on the Wadhwan-Lakhtar highway in Surendrangar district claimed the lives of a couple and their toddler on Tuesday night. The victims have been identified as Ravi Parmar (32), a technical assistant with the Lakhtar Taluka Panchayat, his wife Deepika Parmar (30) and their 18-month-old son Divyesh.According to police officials, an unidentified vehicle rammed into the motorcycle on which the family was travelling. The collision flung all three riders onto the tarmac. Deepika and Divyesh suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot, while Ravi was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. He later succumbed to his injuries during treatment.The driver of the unidentified vehicle fled immediately after the crash. Upon receiving information, personnel from the Wadhwan police station arrived at the spot and transferred the bodies for post-mortem. Authorities have registered a case and initiated a manhunt to track down the driver.
