Lucknow: Deputy chief minister and leader of the house in the legislative council, Keshav Prasad Maurya, on Tuesday held a coordination and review meeting with the members of the legislative council from all parties.The various issues related to the holistic and balanced development of the state were discussed in the meeting.Maurya said that the state govt’s goal is to ensure the benefits of development schemes reach the last person in the queue. He urged all MLCs to prioritise and expedite development works related to public interest and welfare using the MLA local area development fund and to personally ensure the quality and timely execution of these projects.The members highlighted several significant issues concerning local development and requested the govt’s support and prompt action on the matters.During the meeting, leader of the opposition, Lal Bihari Yadav, appreciated the deputy CM for acknowledging the issues raised and for expressing meaningful consensus on them.Maurya directed the officials concerned to ensure that copies of all govt orders and important directives issued by the administration are made available to all MLCs timely. He said that coordination meetings with MLCs should be held periodically to ensure regular review of the progress of development works.He also directed officials to provide an updated list of development works to all members on a district-wise basis every month, and to ensure the timely provision of details regarding the physical progress and documentation of development projects being implemented across various departments.
