Noida: Real estate developers have welcomed the Centre’s four-month extension for housing projects, saying that the decision will help ease financial stress, address supply chain disruptions and ensure the timely completion of projects.In an advisory issued on Friday, the Union housing and urban affairs ministry granted an extension for housing projects affected by the West Asia conflict. The relief applies to projects whose original, revised or previously extended completion date falls on or after Feb 28, 2026.The conflict disrupted the supply of building materials and pushed up their prices. “The extra four months will enable projects to be completed without sacrificing quality and ease the financial strain on developers,” director of RG Group Himanshu Garg said.President of CREDAI Western UP Dinesh Gupta also welcomed the decision and said, “The advisory provides much-needed relief to the sector and will ease financial stress and help maintain construction momentum. It will protect the interests of both developers and homebuyers.”Nirala World CMD Suresh Garg said that the intervention would boost the real estate sector amid challenges triggered by the conflict. Founder and chairman of Signature Global (India) Ltd, Pradeep Aggarwal, also said, “The govt has demonstrated remarkable foresight and a deep understanding of on-the-ground realities. This crucial relief safeguards the industry from external shocks.”
