NOIDA: An IndiGo flight from Noida International Airport to Lucknow was delayed by nearly four hours on Wednesday afternoon after the aircraft developed a technical snag, leaving passengers stranded.Flight 6E 7628 was scheduled to depart at 3.05pm but could not take off after the technical issue was detected. The airline subsequently arranged a replacement aircraft, which departed with the passengers at 6.50pm.A video of the incident was also circulated on social media, showing passengers confronting IndiGo staff at the airport. Passengers alleged that they were not adequately informed about the technical problem and were made to wait inside the aircraft for hours. Several passengers later disembarked and sat on the floor inside the airport premises.Noida International Airport officials declined to comment on the incident.An IndiGo official confirmed that the flight was delayed due to a technical snag and said a replacement aircraft was arranged later. “The passengers were also given options available to them, including cancelling the flight and claiming a refund,” the official said.Noida International Airport at Jewar began commercial passenger operations on June 15, 2026, with IndiGo operating the first passenger flight from Lucknow. Cargo operations commenced two days later, on June 17.
