Hyderabad: Five days after the deputy director of survey and land records (multi zone-II), Sunkari Narahari, was booked by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in a disproportionate assets case, officials on Saturday opened two of his bank lockers and found ₹1.5 crore in alleged unaccounted cash.Following searches conducted at multiple properties on Tuesday, ACB officials had estimated the value of Narahari’s assets at around ₹13 crore, while their market value is believed to exceed ₹30 crore. In addition to the assets already identified, officials have now uncovered further cash and valuables.On Tuesday, Narahari’s family members claimed that they did not possess the keys to the bank lockers. After obtaining search warrants from the ACB court, officials, with the assistance of bank authorities, opened the lockers on Saturday.According to the ACB, the lockers contained ₹1.5 crore in cash, 12 gold biscuits weighing 100 grams each, and nearly two kilograms of gold and diamond ornaments.Narahari had worked for a long period in the real estate in Ranga Reddy district. He is currently in judicial remand. ACB officials are in the process of seeking his custody to investigate further, unearth additional assets, and determine how he allegedly amassed disproportionate wealth.
