Cyber cell traces 25 lost phones, returns them
Police said the drive to trace lost and stolen phones will continue, with citizens urged to promptly report incidents to improve recovery chances

Panchkula: The cyber cell of Panchkula police has traced 25 lost and stolen mobile phones in the past one month and returned them to their owners.People who received their phones met DCP Srishti Gupta and thanked her. The DCP praised the cyber team’s round-the-clock efforts and technical expertise in tracking missing devices.Police said 70 mobile phones have been recovered so far this year and handed back to owners.Among beneficiaries was Manshika, who had lost her phone three years ago in Sector 21 market. She said she recently received a call from the cyber cell informing her that her device had been recovered.Police also explained the process of filing complaints on the CEIR portal (ceir.gov.in) to block and trace lost or stolen phones. Complainants need to file an FIR first, then submit details such as mobile number, IMEI, brand, place of loss and upload documents to receive a request ID for tracking.
