New Delhi: Congress has been granted a no-objection certificate (NOC) by Delhi Police to hold a rally at Ramlila Maidan, one of the three new designated protest sites in the city, on Nov 1.According to police, the clearance for the gathering will stay valid from Oct 25 to Nov 3. Police said they were in constant coordination with the organisers, traffic police and other agencies concerned to ensure adequate law-and-order arrangements, manage traffic and facilitate the smooth conduct of the rally.Recently, Ramlila Maidan, Burari and CBD grounds were notified as designated venues for protests and demonstrations in Delhi instead of Jantar Mantar.According to standing order no. 48/2026, the Union home ministry had constituted a committee to examine alternative venues where citizens could exercise their right to organise protests and demonstrations. Based on its recommendations, Jantar Mantar was removed from the list of protest venues.
