Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday accused the previous BRS govt of merely issuing notifications without providing jobs to youth during its 10-year tenure, alleging that it instead made crores of rupees through question paper leaks. He appealed to unemployed youth not to fall into the opposition’s trap.“The Congress govt will issue notifications and fill every vacant govt post in the state, handing over appointment letters to selected candidates in a phased manner. But the KCR-led previous BRS govt provided jobs only to K Chandrasekhar Rao’s family members and relatives, including KT Rama Rao, T Harish Rao, K Kavitha, Santosh Kumar, B Vinod Kumar and Errabelli Dayakar Rao, by making them ministers, MPs and MLCs,” Revanth claimed while addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone for development of poet Ande Sri Smruti Vanam at Ghatkesar.Stating that Telangana people had given everything to the KCR family, Revanth asked what they had given back to the state, except becoming richer than the Nizams by allegedly looting the state’s wealth and leaving behind a debt of ₹8.11 lakh crore.“Now, shamelessly, they are claiming that the previous BRS govt issued notifications and those jobs were filled by the Congress. Why did the BRS govt not provide jobs during its 10-year tenure? The Congress govt conducted Group-I examinations after a gap of 15 years and filled Group-I posts with SC, ST, minority, BC and candidates from other sections of society. Why did the previous BRS govt fail to fill Group-I posts?” Revanth asked.Referring to BRS working president KT Rama Rao’s comments on notifications and govt jobs, Revanth accused senior BRS leaders of amassing hundreds of crores of rupees through paper leaks and other corrupt practices.“The KCR family never considered conducting examinations and filling vacancies a serious issue. They did not look at the problems of the unemployed on humanitarian grounds,” he alleged.“The Congress govt filled nearly 70,000 govt jobs and gave appointment letters to candidates in the presence of their parents. The previous BRS govt neglected Telangana Udyamakarulu, but the Congress govt made Shankaramma, mother of Srikantha Chary, and another woman, the granddaughter of Veera Nari Chakali Ilamma, members of the state women’s commission. M Kodandaram and Addanki Dayakar have become MLCs, and nine top frontline poets and artistes from various fields who were at the forefront of the Telangana statehood movement were honoured and given cash awards of ₹1 crore each,” Revanth said.“It is the responsibility of Congress cadres and the youth of the state to politically bury KCR in Gajwel itself and ensure that the BRS does not sprout again, making it a party with no future but only a past. The people of Telangana will not forgive the KCR family. Youth will go door-to-door to remind them of the KCR family’s 10-year rule,” Revanth claimed.“The people have not forgotten the Telangana plundered by the BRS. Telangana society is watching everything. This land has a history of dethroning the tyranny of the Nizams. People will not forgive the KCR family and BRS. No one can subjugate Telangana,” Revanth claimed.Recalling his close association with popular poet Ande Sri, CM Revanth said the writer had raised his voice against the arrogance of previous rulers in Telangana and had been a source of inspiration whenever he felt hopeless due to the alleged tyrannical rule of the BRS.“I regard Ande Sri as my elder brother and an atma bandhuvu of mine,” Revanth said.
