CMC clears 506 footpath encroachments during special drive
Unauthorised food stalls removed in Patancheru on Sunday

Hyderabad: As part of a special drive to ensure obstruction-free movement for pedestrians, the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has removed unauthorised food stalls, street vendors, temporary structures, and other encroachments occupying footpaths.The Serilingampalli Zone recorded the highest progress, with encroachments cleared along five major road stretches, including Gandipet X Road to Sai Baba Temple, Patancheru Main Road, BHEL Circle to RC Puram Nagulamma Temple, Manjeera Pipeline Road, and Telecom Nagar Road in Serilingampalli Circle. The zone covered 10.8 km of footpaths and removed 197 encroachments.Overall, the special drive was carried out across 15 road stretches, covering 30.2 km of footpaths. During the operation, officials removed a total of 506 encroachments.CMC commissioner G Srijana directed officials to continue the special drive in other identified areas across the city in a phased manner.
