Gorakhpur: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday met two youths who have been voluntarily cleaning the historic pond outside the Tarkulha Devi Temple, one of eastern Uttar Pradesh’s prominent Shakti Peeths. The CM praised Anupam Gupta and Karan Nishad, residents of Bhaopur village in Chauri Chaura, for their efforts and assured them that the pond would soon undergo beautification and permanent restoration.The duo began removing water hyacinth and waste from the pond through daily ‘shramdaan’ on Sept 5. Impressed by their initiative, the CM invited them to the Annexe Bhawan, where he felicitated them and appreciated their community service.—
