Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday defended HYDRAA, terming it one of the most important initiatives of the Congress govt and asserted that the agency will continue its operations against encroachments. He had said this in response to media queries that the high court has directed the govt to relieve AV Ranganath from the post of commissioner of HYDRAA.On Saturday, the CM responded to a video posted on X showing rain water flowing in Nalla Cheruvu at Uppal area, a lake restored by HYDRAA after clearing encroachments.Revanth posted on X: “It gave me immense satisfaction to see our Hyderabad transforming through the rejuvenation of its lakes! By restoring and revitalising our lakes, HYDRAA is securing a vibrant future for generations to come.”The CM further stated: “My heartfelt congratulations to HYDRAA officials and staff who worked tirelessly for the rejuvenation of the Uppal Nalla Cheruvu. Conserving lakes is not merely about protecting water resources; it is about safeguarding the future of coming generations. We will move forward, protecting every lake and preserving every inch of public property,” he said.In another post on X, CM Revanth said the state’s per capita income increased from ₹3,80,031 in 2024-25 to to ₹4,18,931 in 2025-26. The per capita income grew by ₹38,900 in a single year, which accounts for 10.2 per cent. Telangana is achieving new heights ever since Congress came to power in December 2023, he added.“We are India’s top-performing state. The rise in per capita income became possible through hard work, focus on economic growth, investments, job creation, balanced development across verticals, and a shift from ad hocism to policy-based governance,” he stated.
