City remains warm despite monsoon onset

Kolkata: The city remained warm and humid a day after monsoon onset even as the Met office predicted scanty rain in and around Kolkata during the next one week. While maximum temperature reached 35.3°C in Kolkata on Saturday, the minimum was around 28.6°C. Conditions remain favourable for further advancement of southwest monsoon into the remaining parts of Bengal and some more parts of Odisha over the next two-three days, said a bulletin issued by the Regional Meteorological Centre.North Bengal will continue to receive light to moderate rain and thundershowers over the next three-four days.
