Mangaluru: The Youth Congress committee of Mangaluru constituency organised an overnight protest titled ‘Janatantra Rakshanegagi Ahoraatri Dharani’ at Thokottu bus stand in Ullal on Friday, demanding transparency in the SIR of electoral rolls and accountability from the Election Commission of India. The protest began at 4 pm on Friday and concluded at 10 am on Saturday. District minister UT Khader joined the demonstrators and raised concerns over the transparency of the voter data revision process.Addressing the gathering, Khader said, “To clear the doubts of the country’s youth and senior voters, the head of the Election Commission, Gyanesh Kumar, must resign.”Questioning the handling of SIR-related data, he further said, “Who provided all this data and information? Where is this printed, and who printed it? The Election Commission should have questioned this. Because they did not, we have doubts about the Election Commission and election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
