Chennai: Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) on Monday published a list of its 100 biggest property tax defaulters, who together owe the civic body ₹31.39 crore, intensifying revenue recovery amid its financial crunch. The defaulters include a mix of infrastructure firms, real estate companies, hotels, trusts, and educational institutions with dues ranging from ₹8.5 lakh to ₹4.8 crore.Topping the list M/s IG3 Infra Limited’s pending property tax of ₹4.87 crore, M/s Ceedeeyes Standard Towers Pvt. Ltd. on Velachery Main Road (₹2.30 crore), Ranga Pillai of Anna Salai, Pudupet (₹2.22 crore), P T Lee Chengalvaraya Naicker Trust in Pudupet (₹1.23 crore) and Walfs Infra India Private Ltd. in Ponniammanmedu, Madhavaram (₹1.09 crore). Together, the top five account for nearly ₹11.73 crore. Properties listed as “Y Pallakku Durai” and “Y Pallakkudurai” appear nine times and are concentrated around Ranganathan Street and Usman Road in T Nagar. The combined outstanding amount under the name is around ₹2.55 crore.The list also features several charitable, religious, and educational institutions. Among them, P T Lee Chengalvaraya Naicker Trust has the highest dues at ₹1.23 crore. Others include Arcot Lutheran Church (₹19.3 lakh), Samarpana Charitable Trust (₹16.6 lakh), Amma Kamara Charities (₹13.9 lakh), Thomas Educational Charitable Trust (₹13.4 lakh), Indian Red Cross Society (₹14.3 lakh), Shree Jain Sangh Trust (₹12.5 lakh), Samuel Harris Educational Charitable Trust Matriculation Higher Secondary School (₹12.4 lakh) and All India Nayudu Sangam (₹12.4 lakh).
