Gurgaon: A 40-year-old motorcyclist was killed after his bike was allegedly hit by a speeding car near Noorgarh bus stand on Palhawas-Hailey Mandi road in Pataudi on Aug 5.The victim, identified as Satyavan, was a resident of Mangwali village in Pataudi who worked as a driver. According to the complaint, Satyavan was returning home on his motorcycle from the Palhawas side when a car allegedly being driven at high speed and in a rash and negligent manner hit his motorcycle. He sustained grievous injuries and was taken to CHC Gurawara, Rewari, by a passerby, Manoj, before being referred to Govt Hospital, Rewari, where he succumbed to his injuries.Following the incident, police registered an FIR under Sections 281 (rash or negligent driving) and 106(1) (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following the complaint of the victim’s younger brother, Pradeep, who alleged that the accident occurred due to the negligence of the driver of the car bearing registration number HR36AL6388.Police said they reached the accident spot after receiving information through the emergency response system and found the damaged motorcycle lying by the roadside. “The vehicle was taken into possession, and photographs of the scene were taken. After the injured man was identified through the motorcycle’s registration details, his family members were informed,” a cop said.The body was handed to the family post-autopsy.The investigation is being carried out by ASI Pradeep of Police Post Hailey Mandi. Police said that the accused would be arrested soon.
