Noida: A bus went out of control and crashed into a truck travelling ahead of it on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway near Galgotias University in the early hours of Sunday. The impact damaged the front portion of the bus. The driver Abrar, a resident of Jaipur, was injured, while all passengers escaped unhurt. In another incident, a man was injured after his bicycle was hit by a bus in Sector 59 on Saturday night.Dankaur police station SHO Manoj Kumar said the first incident took place around 1am on Sunday. The impact left the front portion of the bus badly damaged, but the 30-odd passengers inside escaped without any serious injuries reported.Police were informed right after the collision, and a team was sent to the spot. The injured driver was taken to a nearby hospital, while the damaged bus was moved to the side of the road so it would not obstruct traffic on the expressway.Initial investigation revealed that the bus driver dozed off behind the wheel and lost control. No police complaint has been received in the matter so far, the SHO added.In the second incident, Anil, a resident of Chotpur colony in Sector 63, was injured after his bicycle was hit by a bus near the petrol pump in Sector 59 around 9.30pm on Saturday. A video of the incident, which was circulated on social media, shows the bus driver fleeing in the vehicle right after the crash.Police were called, and a team brought the victim to the Sector 39 govt hospital for treatment, where he is currently stable. While no police complaint has been filed so far, police are using CCTV footage to trace the bus and establish the identity of the driver, police said.
