Ahmedabad: Sola police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with a burglary in a locked house in Bhadaj and recovered gold jewellery worth Rs 10.7 lakh, police said.The burglary took place between 5pm on Sept 13 and 7am on Sept 14 at a house in Mota Rabari Vas near Visat Mata temple in the area. The complainant, Bharat Desai, told police that an unidentified person broke the lock of the main door, entered the house and broke open an iron safe. The burglar allegedly stole 86.4g of gold jewellery worth Rs 13 lakh.During the investigation, police examined footage from more than 250 CCTV cameras along the suspected route and identified the accused as Sunil Parmar, a labourer from Jamnagar.Police said Parmar was intercepted near the Bagodara highway toll plaza. During questioning, he confessed to the crime and told police that he had concealed the jewellery in a hut on a GHB plot near Vishwakarma Sankul on Gota-Ognaj Road. The jewellery was recovered.According to police records, Parmar has two earlier cases of burglary and house break-in registered at Jamnagar City C Division and B Division police stations.
