Gurgaon: A 25-year-old bouncer was beaten to death with iron rods after a quarrel broke out during a family function in Faridabad’s Tilpat village on Thursday night.Wali Mohammad, a resident of Bisru village in Nuh district, was attacked when he tried to defuse a quarrel, his maternal uncle said.Police said the accused and the victim were related and a murder case had been registered in connection with the incident.The altercation began around 8 pm near Tahir’s house, a relative of Wali and a resident of Tilpat, who was hosting a housewarming function. Wali was visiting his family after four years. According to Tahir, the dispute started when a motorcycle belonging to a relative hit Wali’s nephew, triggering an argument that soon escalated.Tahir identified the accused as Sahil, who is a neighbour.Sabir, another relative of the victim, said Wali’s brother Tayyab and he confronted Sahil and his associates over the incident. During the ensuing fight, Sahil allegedly repeatedly struck Wali with an iron rod, leaving him critically injured. Wali was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead. Tayyab was also injured and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.“They attacked each other in fury after a bike hit a child. We reached the spot after receiving information about the incident. The accused and the victim Wali were relatives, and we have registered a murder case. The accused will be nabbed soon,” the SHO of Palla station said.The CCTV footage from the neighbourhood shows residents present at the scene as the attack unfolded. They can be seen running around and screaming in panic from a distance, while the accused allegedly continued to assault Wali, with no one intervening to stop the attack and rescue him.Wali is survived by his wife and two children. Besides working as a bouncer, he ran a wrestling training centre in his village, where he taught children the sport. A wrestling enthusiast himself, he also took part in competitions in nearby areas.Wali’s body was sent for a post-mortem, and further investigation is underway to establish the sequence of events.
