Amritsar: Following Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, the Punjab BJP on Sunday demanded the resignations of the state’s education minister and health minister over recurring exam and recruitment controversies.Punjab BJP spokesperson Sarchand Singh alleged AAP, which had come to power promising “honest politics”, had failed to uphold the very principles of morality and accountability it once championed while in the opposition. He accused the AAP govt of a “systematic betrayal” of Punjab’s youth, citing a string of major failures which include a high-tech cheating racket during the July pharmacy officer exam, irregularities in the Dec 2025 PSSSB Group-B exam and paper leak allegations in the June 2024 PPSC agriculture development officer exam.

He further referred to the March 2023 PSTET exam where answer keys were allegedly printed directly in question papers, the Feb 2023 Class XII English paper leak affecting 2.5 lakh students and the May 2022 PPSC naib tehsildar exam cancellation affecting 42,000 candidates. Singh accused AAP leadership of double standards, saying that Arvind Kejriwal routinely demands resignations over national exam controversies while remaining silent on scams in his own state. “If AAP truly believes in the ethical standards it once preached, it must prove that morality and accountability apply equally to its own govt and not merely to its political opponents,” he added.
