Jaipur: A 60-year-old businessman has accused a woman and two others of attempting to extort Rs 1 crore by allegedly honey-trapping and blackmailing him after borrowing Rs 6.5 lakh on the pretext of financial distress, police said on Sunday.An FIR was registered on Aug 1 on the complaint of the businessman who is engaged in financing. Police have launched an investigation.According to the complaint, the businessman met the accused through an acquaintance in 2025. The woman allegedly claimed she needed urgent financial help.Believing her, the complainant alleged that he lent her Rs 6.5 lakh in Oct 2025, against which she issued a cheque as security.The FIR alleged that after receiving the money, the woman repeatedly insisted on meeting him. She allegedly later got herself photographed with him and threatened to implicate him in a false rape case unless he paid Rs 1 crore.The businessman alleged that the accused attempted to blackmail and extort him by threatening to misuse the photographs and file a false criminal case.Police said the allegations are being verified and further investigation is underway.
