Chennai: The Bureau of Indian Standards has granted four international ISO Management System Certifications to Osmania University, Hyderabad, according to a release issued on Wednesday. The certifications — ISO 21001:2018 (Educational Organisations Management System), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System), ISO 50001:2018 (Energy Management System) and ISO 22000:2018 (Food Safety Management System) — were awarded after a comprehensive assessment and verification of the university’s management systems and processes. Sandeep Kumar Kanogia, Scientist-F and Deputy Director General (Southern Region), BIS presented the certificates at a function held at the Senate Hall of Osmania University. The release said the certifications were granted following comprehensive assessment and verification by BIS of the University’s management systems and processes. “Internationally recognized ISO certifications provide educational institutions with a structured framework for quality, transparency, accountability and continual improvement. They enhance institutional credibility, strengthen stakeholder confidence and help universities benchmark themselves against global best practices. Such certifications are not merely recognitions, but tools for sustained excellence and future readiness,” Kanogia said. Vice-Chancellor Kumar Molugaram described the achievement as a historic milestone that reinforces the university’s commitment to academic excellence and global standards.
