Marking the commencement of the academic session 2026–27, BHU vice-chancellor Prof Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi on Monday performed Rudrabhisheka and offered prayers at Vishwanath Temple on the campus. He was accompanied by registrar Rajan Srivastava, dean of students Prof Ranjan Kumar Singh, directors of institutes, deans of faculties, faculty members, officers, and other senior functionaries of the university.The VC underlined the university’s resolve to make every possible effort for the welfare of its students, faculty members, officers, and staff. He said that teaching and research must remain at the core of the university’s priorities, with a strong student-centric approach to learning and campus life. He called upon members of the university to collectively strive and create a positive and supportive atmosphere for students as he underlined the need for quality research publications and projects, as well as the best possible medical care for patients.
