Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday urged Telugu NRIs, entrepreneurs and Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) representatives in the United States to invest in their home state and actively participate in the reconstruction of Telangana.Speaking at the IOC meeting in the US, Bhatti listed out the welfare and development projects taken up by the Congress govt and urged the NRI’s to become partners in the state’s growth journey.During his address as the chief guest at the IOC representatives’ meeting, he highlighted the govt’s development initiatives and future plans to overseas delegates and NRIs. “Projects such as the Regional Ring Road (RRR), Metro Rail Phase-II expansion, and increased global investments will further boost the state’s development. Telangana’s per capita income has already reached ₹4.18 lakh,” he mentioned.“The state is being transformed into a global investment destination while reshaping its overall development trajectory. Telangana Rising 2047-vision plan is being implemented with the goal of transforming Telangana into a $3 trillion economy by 2047 and a $1 trillion economy within the next five years,” he said.Along with Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Cyberabad, a fourth mega city named Bharat Future City is being developed as a pollution-free, net-zero urban hub. The state is being developed by classifying it into three economic zones of Core Urban Region Economy (CURE), Peri-Urban Region Economy (PURE), and Rural Agriculture Region Economy (RARE), Bhatti explained to the NRIs.“Transformative changes have been introduced in the education sector to create globally competitive youth and enhance employment opportunities. A Young India Skills University has been established through public-private partnership. Integrated residential schools with international standards are being built in every constituency. In collaboration with the Tata Group, govt ITIs are being upgraded into high-tech digital training centers with an investment of ₹2,100 crore. A model Telangana Public School has already been launched,” he said.“To curb encroachments on lakes, drainage channels, and govt lands in Hyderabad, HYDRAA has been introduced, ensuring strict protection of natural resources. The Musi Riverfront Project, inspired by the River Thames in London, to clean and transform the Musi River into a major tourism and commercial hub, has also been launched,” the Dy CM added.
