Bengaluru Milk Union Ltd contractor booked for stealing ghee, paneer

Bengaluru: A contractor associated with Bengaluru Milk Union Ltd (Bamul) is accused of stealing dairy products worth Rs 4,460 from the union’s dispatch dock.According to a complaint filed by Suresh M, chief security officer of Bamul, the accused, Raghu DS, 34, works as a contractor and owner-driver of distribution vehicles and has been associated with the organisation for nearly 10 years. The complaint states that during a routine verification at the dispatch dock on platform C near Dairy Circle in Adugodi at 7.53pm on June 26, officials noticed a shortage of 10 packets of 200-gram paneer and 10 packets of 500-gram ghee that had been kept ready for dispatch. Officials immediately reviewed CCTV footage, which showed Raghu taking the dairy products without authorisation. The total value of the stolen items was Rs 4,460.Based on the complaint, Adugodi police have registered a case under Section 303 (theft) of BNS. A senior officer said, “We are verifying whether products were stolen in the past too.”
