Attari: The timing of the Beating Retreat Ceremony Parade held daily at the Attari-Wagah international border near Amritsar by the jawans of India’s Border Security Force (BSF) and their counterparts of Pakistan Rangers will change from Friday, Oct 16, with the daily ceremony now scheduled from 5 pm to 5.30 pm. The schedule has been advanced in keeping with the sunset timing. The daily retreat ceremony draws thousands of spectators to the Indian side at Attari and the Pakistani side at Wagah, turning the international border into a stage for a spirited display of military precision, physical prowess and national pride. Visitors from across India and abroad gather to witness the high-energy drill, marked by synchronised marching, aggressive gestures and the lowering of national flags by the BSF and Pakistan Rangers.Even after the international border gates were closed during Operation Sindoor, the crowds continued to turn up in large numbers on both sides, which signifies the ceremony’s enduring appeal as a powerful expression of national identity and patriotic fervour.Visitors planning to witness the daily spectacle have been advised to note the revised timings and plan their visits accordingly.
