Lucknow: Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) will hold its 11th convocation on Aug 29, with the ceremony being conducted in two shifts to accommodate the large number of graduating students expected to participate.The convocation will cover students who graduated from 2023 till 2026. According to the university notification, the first phase will be held from 10am to 1pm at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium, where PhD scholars and gold medallists will receive their degrees and honours.During the main ceremony, degrees will be conferred on stage only to university toppers from each graduating year and recipients of the R D Sonkar Award.Other registered students will receive their degrees in the second phase, beginning at 2pm in their respective departments.“Given the large number of degree recipients, the university has planned the convocation in two phases to ensure that the distribution of degrees and awards is carried out in a smooth, systematic and secure manner,” BBAU spokesperson Prof Rachana Gangwar said.Students will be allowed entry only after verification of their identity and valid convocation passes issued by the proctor’s Office. After 1pm, entry into academic departments will be restricted to registered candidates with verified passes.Controller of examinations Prof Vikram Singh Yadav said all departments and committees concerned have been directed to complete the necessary preparations within the stipulated timeline.
