Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd withdraws Purple Line suspension ahead of PM visit

Bengaluru: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) has withdrawn its earlier public notice regarding the temporary suspension of Metro services on the Purple Line Sunday.BMRCL had initially planned to suspend services between Hosahalli and Cubbon Park Metro stations from 7am to 9pm. However, sources said, in view of multiple events in the city—including the 45th anniversary celebrations of the Art of Living Foundation, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend—Metro services will now continue without disruption.A press release stated: “In view of the large number of passengers expected to travel across the city to various events, and with the objective of facilitating smooth and convenient passenger movement, BMRCL has decided to commence Metro services from 5am Sunday.”Services will begin at 5am from all terminal stations on the Purple, Green, and Yellow lines, operating as per the regular schedule.
