Ahmedabad: A 20-year-old resident of Ambli was assaulted by four men, including one who attacked him with a knife-like weapon, near a temple in Ranchhodpura on Thursday night. The youth suffered a head injury that required three to four stitches and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bopal.According to a complaint lodged with Sarkhej police on Friday, the victim had left home on his scooter around 11.30pm to buy snacks. Around midnight, when he reached the temple, one of the accused allegedly stopped him and questioned him over allegedly providing false information to police.The argument soon escalated as three other men joined him. The complainant alleged that the four men abused him and assaulted him with fists and kicks.The victim told police that one of the accused struck him on the hand and body with a knife-like weapon, while another allegedly hit him on the head, leaving him bleeding.Hearing the commotion, the victim’s father rushed to the spot and attempted to intervene. The accused allegedly manhandled him as well before fleeing.Police said the victim had initially submitted an application regarding the incident but later decided to file a formal complaint. An investigation has been initiated.
