Ahmedabad: A journalist has been arrested, and three others have been named, in an extortion case after a woman alleged repeated threats over a video recorded at her hut in a village near Kalol in Gandhinagar district.According to the complaint, three men came to her hut on Dec 10, 2025, claimed they were journalists, recorded “a video with liquor pouches,” and warned her, “we will make this video viral.” The woman alleged the men then “forcibly took Rs 40,000” and told her, “Every month on the 10th, we will come to collect Rs 40,000.”She further alleged that two days later, two of them returned with two more men, saying, “They are journalists too and you will have to pay them as well.” They took Rs 25,000 on that occasion, the woman said. The next day, one of the accused allegedly returned alone and took Rs 15,000.The woman has alleged that she has paid them more than Rs 1 lakh so far.
