Bengaluru: A routine errand turned traumatic for a police constable after a Rottweiler attacked him in Kalyan Nagar, leaving him seriously injured.Sadashiva Ingalagavi, 49, attached to the Bangalore Development Authority’s Special Task Force, was returning from the Banaswadi sub-registrar’s office on April 16 when he stopped on 1st Main Road in Kalyannagar to take a call. A Rottweiler, allegedly neither leashed nor muzzled, lunged at him from behind and bit his right leg.“I kicked the dog and cried for help. It took a couple of minutes before the owner restrained it,” he told TOI.Hoysala patrol personnel rushed him to hospital. A case has been registered under Sections 291 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and police said the owner will be issued a notice.
