Rewari: The death of a 25-year-old woman in Haryana’s Rewari district took a fresh turn on Monday, with police registering a dowry death case against her husband and in-laws and arresting her husband.Preeti was found hanging at her matrimonial home in Pithrawas village under Rampura police station limits. While the in-laws said she died by suicide, the exact circumstances surrounding her death are still under investigation.Police spokesperson Raj Kumar said an FIR under relevant sections, including provisions relating to dowry death, was registered on the complaint of the victim’s family.Preeti’s relatives had alleged that she was subjected to prolonged harassment at her matrimonial home and questioned the claim that she died by suicide.Following the registration of the case, police arrested her husband, Deepak, while further investigation is underway.
