Varanasi: In view of the NEET examination on Sunday and Muharram, commissioner of police Mohit Agrawal asked all additional commissioners of police (CPs), deputy commissioners of police and other senior officials to increase vigilance and alertness.Agrawal held a meeting at his camp office on Friday evening to review preparations for the forthcoming events and also assessed the performance of UP-112 services in the districts. During the meeting, he checked preparedness for the NEET examination and asked his subordinates to stay focused on social media monitoring, security and traffic management.Regarding Muharram, emphasis was laid on visiting sensitive locations, verification of procession routes, rooftop and drone surveillance, and removal of encroachments. He asked all gazetted officers to ensure that investigations of ordinary crimes are completed within 60 days and those of heinous crimes within 90 days.Instructions were given to prioritise quality disposal of SC/ST, dowry death, Gangster Act and SR cases, conduct regular reviews at the DCP level, monitor professional criminals, and make night patrolling effective.Earlier, at a meeting with UP-112 personnel at the Traffic Police Line auditorium, the CP reviewed working methodology, service quality, response time and public satisfaction. Due to continuous monitoring, the average response time has been recorded at 5 minutes 20 seconds and the public satisfaction level at 94%. He issued instructions to ensure better behaviour, discipline, conduct and quality service as first responders. Among those present were additional CPs Shivhari Meena and Alok Priyadarshi, and DCPs Gaurav Banshwal and Neetu.
