Varanasi: Banaras Hindu University will celebrate the 12th International Day of Yoga on June 21, at Malaviya Bhavan. Expecting participation of over 1,000 people, the event is going to be the biggest yoga event held by the BHU.The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’. The event is expected to witness the participation of around 300 cadets from the National Cadet Corps (NCC), over 200 volunteers from the National Service Scheme (NSS), and more than 300 students enrolled in the Yoga course conducted at Malaviya Bhavan, in addition to faculty members, staff, officials and students of the university.The main event of the Yoga Day will be held from 6:30am to 8:30am at Malaviya Bhavan complex. Mass yoga practice sessions will be conducted in the gardens on either side of Malaviya Bhavan as well as in the main auditorium. A live telecast of the Prime Minister’s International Day of Yoga programme will also be screened during the session.The event will be organised in accordance with the guidelines issued by the govt of India. The formal International Day of Yoga ceremony will follow the mass yoga practice session.
