President Vladimir Putin put Russia’s nuclear deterrent on high alert on Sunday in the face of a barrage of Western reprisals for his war on Ukraine, which said it had repelled Russian ground forces attacking its biggest cities.
In response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the U.N. Security Council has voted to call an emergency meeting of the General Assembly today. On Sunday, 11 voted in favour of a meeting, Russia opposed, and China, India, and the UAE abstained. This was the same vote on the resolution Friday calling for Russia to cease all military operations in Ukraine immediately.
The vote to authorise a meeting of the G-8 was 11 in favor, Russia opposed, China, India, and the United Arab Emirates abstained.
Sergiy Kyslytsya, the Ukrainian Ambassador to the United Nations, requested that the General Assembly meeting be under the United States’ “Uniting for Peace” resolution, which was adopted by the Soviet Union to circumvent Soviet vetoes during the Korean War.
Those five permanent members, the United States, Russia, China, Britain and France, hold vetoes and have no power to act unless the General Assembly calls an emergency meeting.
In this so called war who is correct no one knows but killing citizen is not their families are safe in their palace and now because of their power hunger we will suffer gas petrol prices rise and that means everything price rise.
Ther no option for Russia.. everyone should understand. Even all religions in India should learn fight from Ukrain during war.
Everyone trying to ba smart, affected are the common innocent people of Ukraine and the world at large. No doubt Ukraine’s can fight as Patriots, will not serve the purpose against a mighty force. It’s better they accept their failure and go for meaningful negotiation and save there precious nation. The president is not serious still behaving like a comedian in his own style.
