550 cadets take part in NCC training camp

Varanasi: : An annual training camp organised by the 91 UP Battalion NCC is underway at Swami Harsewanand Public School, Banpurwa Ramna, from May 15 to 24. Around 550 cadets from various schools and colleges are participating in the 10-day camp.Addressing cadets on the second day of the camp on Saturday, Camp Commandant Colonel Amar Singh (Sena Medal) said that the National Cadet Corps (NCC) serves as a strong platform for developing patriotism, leadership qualities, discipline and self-confidence among the youth.He informed cadets that specialised military-style training in firing, yoga and drill would be conducted during the camp. Cadets will also receive practical exposure regarding camp layout, accommodation systems and other military activities associated with NCC training.Colonel Singh said that adapting oneself to changing weather conditions and circumstances is an important aspect of camp life and helps in building resilience and discipline. Motivating the cadets, he said that if NCC training is followed with dedication and discipline, it can help shape a successful future not only in defence services but also in other professional fields.Providing details of the activities planned during the camp, he said that cultural programmes, debate competitions, sports events, general knowledge contests, firing competitions and best cadet selection programmes would also be organised.Cadets from several educational institutions are participating in the camp, including Sunbeam School Mughalsarai, Swami Harsewanand Public School, Sakaldiha Inter College, LBS Degree College, HDC Zamania, Gahmar Inter College, SKBM Dildarnagar and Nagar Inter College Mughalsarai.
