Patiala: The Aam Aadmi Party representatives on Friday held a protest demonstration at Fountain Chowk here against the BJP-led central govt over the hike in petrol and diesel prices.The protest demonstration was led by Tejinder Mehta, the AAP district president and chairman of the district planning committee.Mehta said the BJP govt at the Centre was continuously increasing the petrol and diesel prices, placing a heavy burden of inflation on common people.He said that every section of society was affected by rising fuel prices as essential commodities become expensive. Mehta alleged that the Centre was robbing people’s pockets by making false excuses.Patiala mayor Kundan Gogia, who was a part of the protest, said the lives of common people were getting affected by the anti-people policies of the central govt.He said the AAP would continue to raise its voice for the rights of the people and the struggle against inflation would continue.PRTC chairman Harpal Juneja demanded immediate roll back of the increase in fuel prices.The protesters also raised slogans against the central govt.MSID:: 131120601 413 |
