Lucknow: BJP on Friday observed the birth anniversary of Jan Sangh leader Deendayal Upadhyay, the chief proponent of the philosophy of Integral Humanism (Ekatma Manavvad), across Uttar Pradesh, renewing its commitment to serving the last person in society.Uttar Pradesh BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary, along with state general secretary (organisation) Dharmpal Singh, paid floral tributes to the portrait of the Jana Sangh ideologue at the state party office.Addressing party workers on the occasion, Chaudhary said the essence of Deendayal Upadhyaya’s philosophy lay in the holistic development of an individual through the advancement of the body, mind, intellect and soul. He said Upadhyay’s ideas and ideals had laid the foundation of cultural nationalism and shown the path of Antyodaya aimed at ensuring the welfare of every section of society.“Every BJP worker remains committed to following the path shown by Upadhyay,” Chaudhary said.Dharmpal Singh described him as a champion of Integral humanism, a dedicated nationalist, a skilled organiser and one of the founding leaders of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. He said Upadhyay devoted his life to the cause of the poorest and most deprived sections of society, making national interest and Antyodaya the central mission of his public life.Singh said the life and philosophy of Upadhyay would continue to inspire party workers and citizens alike in their efforts towards nation-building and social upliftment.BJP marked the occasion through programmes held across the state, with party leaders and workers remembering Upadhyay’s contribution to political thought and reiterating their resolve to work towards the welfare and empowerment of the most disadvantaged sections of society.
