JEE preparation helps students ace board exams in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: It was JEE preparation that helped these two students ace CBSE Class 10 boards this year.Kalvi Jayeetha, a student of Sri Chaithanya Techno School, Hulimavu, has secured 499/500, if best of four subjects plus English is considered. She got 100 in English, Sanskrit, social science and information technology and 99 in science and 95 in maths (standard).Kalvi has been preparing for JEE from Class 8, and she says it has helped her crack the analytical questions of the board exam. From mid-Sept, the focus began more on the boards. From Dec 2025, she started spending 5-6 hours after school only for the boards. “The preparatory exams from the school, along with model papers, helped me a lot,” she said. Daughter of an online trader and a school teacher, Kalvi is also a Bharatnatyam dancer, who dances to beat stress.Same with Tarunya B, her classmate, who secured 497/500. Tarunya secured 97 in English, 99 in maths, 100 in Sanskrit, science, social science and information technology. Having attended coaching from Class 8 for JEE, Tarunya said: “Many students found maths tough. But not for me. Based on JEE preparation, it was easy for me. Even in chemistry and physics, it helped me,” she said.
