Master Plan of New Noida or DNGIR

Noida: Land acquisition for New Noida is set to begin soon, with 281 farmers agreeing to give up their plots through mutual consent. Noida Authority has finalised acquisition rates and will now initiate the process for the Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad Investment Region (DNGIR), a proposed urban development spread across nearly 20,000 hectares.Noida Authority CEO Krishna Karunesh reviewed the project at a meeting and asked officials to begin the process at the earliest. “The rates for land acquisition in New Noida have already been determined. A meeting with villagers and gram pradhans was held last week. So far, 281 farmers have submitted consent forms to give their land through mutual agreement,” he said. The acquisition will take place in four phases. The Authority plans to acquire 3,165 hectares by 2027, another 3,798 hectares by 2032, 5,908 hectares by 2037 and 8,230 hectares by 2041.Compensation will vary by phase. Farmers in the first two phases will receive rates based on those of Greater Noida Authority, along with developed plots measuring 6% of their acquired land. In the final two phases, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) rates will apply, along with 7% developed plots.Greater Noida Authority recently raised its compensation rate from Rs 4,125 to Rs 6,415 per sqm, while YEIDA increased its rate from Rs 4,300 to Rs 4,558 per sqm. Noida Authority will set up three new work circles — 11, 12 and 14 — to oversee the project.Officials also reviewed the 5.5km Chilla elevated road linking Mayur Vihar with Mahamaya flyover. Nearly 60% of the project is complete, and it is expected to open by July next year. Officials were told to ensure that the road’s merging point with the Noida Expressway near Mahamaya Flyover does not become a traffic bottleneck. The Authority is also planning a 1.4km elevated link from the Chilla road’s endpoint near Mahamaya Flyover to Yamuna Pushta Road. Its detailed project report is ready, and a tender is expected within two weeks.Separately, the Authority and irrigation department are repairing and upgrading an 11.2km stretch of Yamuna Pushta Road between Okhla Barrage and Sector 135. Earthwork, levelling and widening are underway, with officials directed to complete the work at the earliest. With pollution expected to worsen in the coming months, Karunesh also ordered all roads to be resurfaced by Oct 31 to curb dust. The Authority will install air quality index display monitors at various locations to provide live pollution updates.
