Ghuman accuses CBI of leaking FIR, moves court
Rajbir Ghuman, OSD to Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann

Chandigarh: Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann’s OSD, Rajbir Singh Ghuman, on Wednesday moved the special CBI court in Chandigarh, alleging that the central agency had leaked the FIR registered against him to the media despite seeking and obtaining an exemption from uploading the FIR online.Special CBI judge Bhawna Jain directed CBI to file its reply on Oct 12.Ghuman’s plea submits that he was falsely implicated by CBI in a case registered by the agency in New Delhi on Oct 5. The next day, CBI moved an application seeking exemption from uploading a copy of the FIR on the portal, citing “strict secrecy, sensitivity, and gravity of the matter”. The court allowed the relief. The petition says neither was the FIR given to Ghuman nor uploaded online, but it ended up being circulated in the media. “Since the copy is only with CBI, therefore it is CBI that has got the FIR circulated in the media,” the application alleges. Ghuman alleged that CBI’s conduct was politically motivated and sought contempt proceedings against the CBI officials who violated the Oct 6 order. He has also sought directions for a “free, fair, and unbiased investigation”.
