Varanasi: A six-day national workshop on the design process began on Monday at the Textile Design section of the Department of Painting, Banaras Hindu University, with 76 participants from across the country taking part.The workshop aims to help young designers gain a deeper understanding of designing– from conceptual thinking to practical and creative development.The programme is being mentored by Shyam Sharma, who has nearly 17 years of professional experience in the textile design industry.Drawing on his industry expertise and practical knowledge, he will guide participants through various stages of the design process.Kiran Gupta, the workshop organiser, introduced the objectives and structure of the programme and highlighted the importance of understanding the design process in contemporary design practice.
