Jaipur: Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Tuesday arrested a 32-year-old drug trafficker who allegedly entered the trade after watching his grandfather spend his fortune on opium.IG ANTF Vikas Kumar said Vishnaram, a resident of Barmer, figured among the state’s 25 most-wanted smugglers. He studied up to Class XII.Police said he entered the drug trade to make quick money after seeing his grandfather become addicted to doda post (poppy husk).The accused initially worked as a truck cleaner and established contacts with drug traffickers in Neemuch and Mandsaur. He later built a network to transport narcotics from Madhya Pradesh and supply them across the Marwar region of Rajasthan at higher prices, police said.Active in crime for around 12 years, the accused has more than 18 cases registered against him under the NDPS Act and Arms Act and on other charges, including attempt to murder, theft, fraud and assault.
