Gurgaon: A 55-year-old pedestrian died after a motorcycle allegedly hit him from behind on the road from Bawda village towards Khawaspur in Farukhnagar Tuesday. Police registered a case against the unidentified motorcycle rider after the injured man died during treatment at Govt Hospital, Sector 10.The deceased, Purn Singh, a resident of village Judaula, Farukhnagar, was walking towards Bawda village along the service road towards Khawaspur at around 7am on Sept 22, according to his son Satyawan.Satyawan told police that he received information about the accident at around 8:30am. By then, family members had taken Purn Singh to Govt Hospital, Sector 10, where doctors declared him dead.According to the complaint, Purn Singh’s daughter Saroj and his nephew Shiv Kumar had reached the accident spot after the collision. They found the motorcycle involved in the accident standing at the spot in a damaged condition. It was allegedly taken away by its rider while Purn Singh was being taken to hospital by his family members. The rider then fled from the spot, the complainant alleged.Satyawan, who works at a hair salon in the city, alleged that the motorcycle rider was driving at a high speed and had hit his father from behind.“After being informed, the police team reached the accident spot, following which the cops went to Govt Hospital, Sector 10 and received Medico-Legal Report concerning Purn Singh. Satyawan then submitted his written complaint, following which a case was registered,” a cop said.A case has been registered under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Farukhnagar police station.
