During construction of the Namma Metro construction site in Bengaluru, a mother and her toddler son were killed by a collapsed structure

A reinforcement structure fell over the deceased while they were riding a bike. A pile-up of vehicles occurred on the busy ORR, causing heavy traffic in and around Hennur, Kalyan Nagar, HBR Layout, Nagawara, and surrounding areas.

On January 10, Tuesday morning, at Nagawara, a woman and her two-and-a-half-year-old son were killed when a structure fell on them at a Namma Metro construction site. In accordance with the police, the two victims were riding on a two-wheeler with their father and the other child, who survived with minor injuries.

Around 10.45 a.m., a Namma Metro structure collapsed and struck Lohith, his wife Tejaswini, and their twin children. Tejaswini and Vihan were seriously injured and subsequently transferred to a private hospital. Both, unfortunately, succumbed,” said DCP Bhimashankar Guled, East Division

A police complaint was filed against the officials of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) and the contractor shortly thereafter. The family of the deceased has alleged negligence by Metro authorities.
